Join the Movement to Transform Society by Growing a Sacred Food Economy
Axis Mundi, Latin for axis of the world, refers to a Tree of Life, the meeting ground between the heavenly and the earthly realms. It is precisely this meeting ground where abundant life spring forth to nourish all that surrounds it. We believe sacred food is an axis mundi, a tree of life that has the power to heal our world and create real abundance. Come eat with us and live the embodied of Eucharist!

OUR VISION
HEAD CHEF
GET INVOLVED
To equip churches with the resources necessary to support a sacred food economy which we believe is a critical aspect of creation care and living Eucharistic lives.

A sacred food economy is one that aligns with the principles of the Food Sovereignty Movement.

The Food Soveriegnty Movement prioritizes food that is ecologically sound, it celebrates and respects cultural diversity, and is controlled cooperatively by the consumers and growers.

Living these principles often looks like sourcing from local and seasonal farmers. It prioritizes and centers the value of Indigenous foods. It seeks repair with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities by making extra efforts to source from those farmers and hire them as employees, as well as folks who currently face extreme economic barriers like at risk youth and the formerly incarcerated. We working the VOA High School and SJ CPE in the Twin Cities who have connections with those populations.
Bridgette Weber MDiv, MAL is a Deacon in the Old Catholic Communion, a cradle Roman Catholic, artist, and chef. Dcn. "Chef" Bridgette believes in the transformative power of the Eucharist to heal and transform our world. They believe sanctifying how we engage with food in our lives can transform our disconnected relationships to the earth to intimate ones oriented to life.
Bridgette truly believes this is how abundance is created in the world, by celebrating the gifts of the Incarnation in community, where all are truly invited to partake. To do this she believes we must transform our food systems to invest and value the best food possible while striving to make sure everyone has access to this.
What is crucial is that money flows directly to farms and paid employees so the food system can grow and transform into one that is kind to the rest of the web of life, unlike our current dominant food system that relies on exploited workers, destruction of the natural world, and erasing rich cultural heritage and connection to land.
We are in the early stages of bringing this project to life. If you would like to be involved, please be in touch and let's see how we could work together.
